Refresher Training Day
On December 7th, 2024, we hosted an incredible Refresher Training Day at the Hilton Garden Inn in Edison, filled with inspiring speakers and valuable insights. It was a day of learning, collaboration, and community engagement that left attendees informed and inspired.
The day began with an uplifting keynote speech from Jason Garay, Cybersecurity Advisor for CISA/DHS, who set the tone by highlighting critical cybersecurity topics.
Christopher Trucillo, Chief of NJ Transit Police, provided an insightful overview of the NJ Transit Police Department’s operations, including their advanced preparations for FIFA 2026 North America—a fascinating and timely presentation.
A highlight of the day was FBI Crisis Negotiator SA John Baroud, whose deep dive into FBI Crisis Negotiation Tactics captivated the audience with his expertise and real-world examples.
In the afternoon, Lisa Diaz, Donna Nicholas, and the TSA team amazed guests with a live demonstration of their canine units detecting explosives and screening passengers. Watching these skilled teams in action was both educational and impressive.
To round out the day, Devin Kevin from FEMA provided an engaging overview of FEMA’s role and shared practical guidance on accessing disaster assistance.
