FBI Newark CAAA Refresher Training Day
We hosted an incredible and inspiring Refresher Training Day at the Hilton Garden Inn Edison. The day was filled with valuable insights, professional expertise, and powerful presentations that left attendees better informed, connected, and energized.
The program opened with an uplifting keynote from Uzma Bell of the FBI Newark Division, setting a strong and motivating tone for the day.
We were honored to welcome Andrew Caggiano, who shared an excellent overview of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police and its ongoing support for the law enforcement community.
A major highlight was Jonathan Golden, Director of the Drew University Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict, who captivated the audience with his deep expertise on culture, conflict, and their intersections in today’s world.
Anthony Pope, Esq.—a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor—delivered an eye-opening presentation on navigating both sides of the law, a session widely appreciated by attendees.
Looking ahead to global events, Gus Penaranda, CEO & President of the Evolvere NJ Unity Chamber of Commerce, provided an insightful briefing on preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, highlighting economic opportunities as well as anticipated challenges.
In the afternoon, Anthony Lordo Jr., Commander of the Liberty District at the United States Park Police, offered a fascinating look into Park Police responsibilities, sharing real-world incidents from the Statue of Liberty area and how teams successfully responded.
Closing the day, Stephen Melito, Medical Examiner for Middlesex County, delivered an informative session on the role, responsibilities, and jurisdiction of medical examiners.
