The FBI Newark Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINewarkCAAA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based organization that supports the mission of the FBI. Our role is to help support the FBI by providing educational programs for New Jersey residents on issues that may impact their safety. Although we are separate and apart from the FBI, we remain an essential component of the overall community efforts of the FBI Newark Field Office and the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
The professional and personal experiences provided by the members of the FBINewarkCAAA are invaluable to the FBI. Through the efforts of our membership, we assist and support the implementation of important community outreach objectives by providing and securing the necessary resources to keep these outreach objectives viable. Some examples of the FBINewarkCAAA events and activities include providing educational safety awareness programs for our students and vulnerable senior population; working with our business partners and school districts to offer the FBI program, Chasing the Dragon, that was created to help educate students and young adults about the dangers of opioid addiction, and many more. At times, we support the FBI Newark Field Office in emergency situations to provide items such as food, clothing, and other necessities for operations that they are involved in.

- Supplying thousands of NJ residents in need with necessary PPE equipment
- Donating hundreds of pounds of food to people where needed
- Providing internet access to many children throughout the state to have the ability to “attend” school virtually
- Assisting victims of human trafficking in areas of severe exploitation by helping and coordinating essential services
for those in need; at times with little notice to ensure their safety and well-being - Continuing our program, Chasing the Dragon, which targets abuse of Opioids
- Hosting a Hate Crimes Symposium to bring together a diverse group of speakers and attendees
- Helping communities after natural disasters
